These receivers would first play a warning sound to let the dogs know they a nearing a boundary zone. Certainly, when the dog has not been trained yet, they will not be able to understand the sound and will continue to cross the zone. In such case, the receiver will deliver a mild static correction to the dogs. The effect will only last for a few seconds and only when the dogs are inside the zone. It is completely adjustable and has been certified safe for use to all breeds.
Meant for Training
The primary purpose of an electronic dog fence is to assist you in training your pet. It works best for dogs that are over eight pounds so that they will be comfortable while wearing the receiver. Once your dog can be trained to sit or stay, you can start them with this system.
