Why a Pet Fountain Is Important

Surely, you are meticulous about the type of food that you give to your pet. But what about the water? If you have realized that you only put water in another bowl pretty much most of the time, then you should consider getting a pet fountain. Should you need convincing about the benefits a pet fountain will give to you and your pet, check out some below:

You have constant water source.

A pet fountain facilitates a steady stream of water supply that is readily accessible to your pet. Owners do not have bend down just to fill water for their pets. Pets, on the other hand, do not have to resort to acrobatics just to drink from a faucet or the toilet seat. It?s a win-win situation for everyone. Most pet fountains can carry a liter of water, which is enough for days. This becomes convenient if you have to go out of town for a while.

You have a choice between gravity and electricity.

Currently, there are two ways a pet fountain can provide continuous water to your pets. The first one is through the natural pull of our planet?s mass. A gravity pet fountain looks very much like a pet bowl with a provision for water gallon or bottle on one end. Using pressure, the water essentially drips down to the bowl. The water will naturally be replaced using the same concept. This is a cheap alternative, but it does not have the features associated with electric ones.

An electric pet fountain uses controlled valves and a pump to draw water from the reservoir to go into the bowl. The water level in the bowl is monitored and will automatically be refilled. Because of this, the design of electric pet fountains is much more streamlined compared to mechanical ones. The reservoir is actually part of the fountain, with the water actually flowing like faucet and stops when the bowl becomes full.

You have cleaner water.

How would you like your pet drinking in the toilet seat? While they are outside, it is highly possible that they may drink from dirty puddles just to quench their thirst.

A pet fountain ensures the cleanliness of the water your pets drink through filters in the flow of the water. Even gravity fountains have filters installed. Most pet fountains today even carry a charcoal filter in order to remove any odor or taste from the water. Unless you provide bottled water to your pet, a pet fountain will be your choice for clean water.

It follows an oxygenating process.

To top it all off, the most advanced pet fountains install a valve near the water tank in order to inject air bubbles in the water. This basically makes the water your pets drink infused with oxygen. Just like humans, an increased amount of oxygen is much needed by your pet. The process also causes movement within the tank, preventing the chance of bacteria from developing in the water. The valve itself can be adjusted to increase or decrease the entry of oxygen.
