Since the dog will feel it right away, instinct will make him go back to the place before he felt the static. The static correction is very safe and will not injure your dog in any way. The sensitivity can even be adjusted from within the receiver to ensure that the dog will not feel inconvenienced by the static effect. As a precaution, though, only dogs over eight pounds can use the receiver so they will not be in any uneasy situation.
